Little Elms is part of the community.

We work with parents and other village organisations to try and ensure that the children in Elmswell are receiving the best possible pre-school education.

We aim to provide a stimulating environment in which children can develop with the help of our highly-qualified and professional staff. With a mix of social, physical and intellectual activities, children in our care grow in confidence and self-esteem.

During each session children take part in a full range of free play activities within a structured framework. With supervision from our caring staff children take part crafts, outdoor play, reading or can play with toys designed to stimulate their imaginations.

Each term is themed, and aims to encompass a wide range of natural, cultural, or creative subjects. However, we also encourage parents to get involved by sharing their working experiences and have regular visits from vets and dentists – does this sound like something you would like to do?

We cater for the ‘rising fours’ age group, before nursery attendance. During this time children are prepared for the more structured environment they will experience with a slightly more formal approach to sessions. Children are encouraged to recognise numbers, letters, shapes and colours while continuing to develop social interaction.

In 2007 we also ran our first summer holiday club. Over two weeks in August we offered parents a break from the six-week holidays in the form of daily three-hour sessions.

These proved extremely popular with almost every session packed and will most likely continue in subsequent years.

Each session also includes the provision of a healthy snack and drink, and water is constantly available.
